Currently, Meijer is looking for an Inventory Crew Member - Northwest Indiana. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for, under general supervision, physically counting merchandise to ensure that complete and accurate physical inventories are completed in the retail units.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Physically counting merchandise on the selling floor and in the stock room
Scanning the UPC and recording counts using a hand held computer device
Visually inspecting merchandise as it is being counted to detect damaged items and items that are incorrectly priced
Periodically conducting audits of retail prices of merchandise items to insure reliability of retail pricing systems
Informing store management of errors found
Communicating with store team members to give or obtain information
Assisting customers with questions when approached
Working with confidential information, where errors could create delay of replenishment, overstock conditions or possible financial loss
Duties occasionally require use of judgment in following varying procedures
Work is tested daily for count accuracy
Other related duties as required
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent with knowledge of general business math and bookkeeping
Six months to one year of job training and experience
Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with store leadership and public customers
Mental and visual effort is required to perform work of a repetitive nature
Physical effort required for standing and walking during at least 95% of work time
Physical effort required to frequently lift and/or move heavy objects
