Scope/Purpose of Position:|
The Senior Lab Technician maintains and develops the Optus data networking systems lab. The position is responsible for developing processes and procedures to test product functionality and document the programming and staging of systems. The Senior Lab Technician will be responsible for keeping the Optus Technical Lab up-to-date with new technologies needed to support the sale of products. They will also be responsible for ensuring legacy systems are at the most current levels of software and firmware and functioning properly.
RESPONSIBILITIES: · Configure LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, Fiber Optics, Wireless, VoIP QOS for Cisco, Juniper, Polycom Networks. · Stage and program customer orders · Configure 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet

- Configure Routers, Switches, Hubs, and Gateways
- Train team members.
- Design and implement IP Networks.
- Develop and document test procedures for data networking equipment.
Onsite at the Corporate office in Jonesboro, AR 5 years of experience with hardware and network troubleshooting and repair. 3-5 years designing and implementing IP networks. 2-3 years of experience testing and programming Data networking and telephony equipment Vocational Technical College degree in Electronics, Circuitry or Industrial preferred and High School Degree or Equivalent preferred. Strong communication skills are required. Proficient understanding and use of productivity tools; Excel, Word, Visio and MS Project. Continual update of certifications, knowledge and experience of technologies based on Optus needs. Must be a team player with a positive attitude and able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills This position requires the successful candidate to be able to multi-task, work within externally developed deadlines, and respond promptly to change.
