In-Home Dental Care is in search of a compassionate, dynamic, enthusiastic, hard-working, capable individual to fill a part time, non-traditional, independent contracting Dental Hygiene position. The candidate will work as a traveling PA161 program provider within Wayne County, Michigan. They will provide dental hygiene services and education to under served populations within the district. The candidate will take on the responsibilities of provider and practitioner while working under supervision of a program Dentist who is off-site during procedures. One day a week is required with approximately 5 to 8 hours per day including travel time. The days scheduled are negotiable.
Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly for equipment transport.
Must have a MINIMUM of 3 years full-time clinical experience.

*Dental Hygienist Job Duties:
*Patient screening procedures; such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting and taking blood pressure and pulse
*Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth
*Applying preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides)
*Teaching patients and caregivers appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health;
*Counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health
*Performing documentation and office management activities
*Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
*Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
*Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
*Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
*Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
*Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Certified CPR/AED and BLS

Education/Experience: Graduate from an accredited Dental Hygiene institution, Bachelor's Degree preferred, Experience in lieu of degree will be considered, Candidate must be licensed in the state of Michigan, 5+ years previous employment preferred, Experience with populations such as elderly/Alzheimer/Dementia/mentally and physically disabled is very important.
