Provide individual and group training in order to prepare young adults for employment and educational opportunities. Assesses client interests, attitudes, abilities, and work readiness in order to develop vocational and educational plans
Interview applicants to assess skills, interests and vocational goals, and provides vocational counseling to young adults.
Conduct individual educational and vocational assessment for each young adult.
Develop links in the community for education, volunteer positions, and employment opportunities.
Job development in the greater New York City community.
Act as a liaison/job coach with community employers.
Refer young adults to VESID and other support or funding sources as needed.
Facilitate groups based on the WAVE (Work, Achievement, Values and Education) curriculum.
Provide individual and vocational counseling in the areas as educating, job training, resume writing, job finding and entitlements.
Meet with young adults as prescribed by support plans to provide monitoring and/or advocacy.
Maintain a working knowledge of intra-agency and community resources.
Refer consumers to appropriate programs, agencies and community services and maintain linkages.
Monitor quality of services received and advocates for consumers.
Maintain case records detailing service needs and activities/arrangements for their fulfillment.
Participate in formal case conferences and attends meetings with relevant staff, as appropriate.
