This position is located at DHS/U.S. Coast Guard, Director of Operational Logistics, Naval Engineering Support Unit, Industrial Production Facility in New Orleans, LA.

This position's primary purpose is the supervision of industrial production and operations within one of two branches at the industrial facility. This position will also provide administrative and technical supervision to the assigned workforce for the maintenance and repair of Coast Guard assets in the assigned area of responsibility. This position is 50% supervision and 50% hands on-work in support of Industrial Service Orders (ISOs).
Being a CG Civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:
* Receiving general work assignments in the form of written work orders and/or oral instructions, with or without accompanying blueprints, sketches, or specifications.
* Determining the number and types of workers needed to complete projects, and plans use of subordinate workers, equipments, facilities, and materials on specific projects as well on quarter to quarter basis to ensure a balanced workload.
* Establishing deadlines, prioritizing, and determine work sequences, coordinating projects with supervisors and other contractors, developing solutions, estimating additional costs, and allocating resources to address issues.
Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired. Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements:
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT FACTOR)

Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc
