Quantech is seeking a professional to join a team at a Lexington area Federally Funded Research and Development Center. The Center is chartered to apply advanced technology to problems of national security. Research and development activities focus on long-term technology development as well as rapid system prototyping and demonstration. The Laboratory works with industry to transition new concepts and technology for system development and deployment.
Implement a sophisticated processing architecture to optimally execute data processing workflows on a Linux cluster. Workflows are described to the system as Directed Acyclic Graphs that combine various algorithms together using the pipe and filter design pattern. Candidate must have a solid background in graph theory and how it applies to cluster computing. Experience setting up and maintaining Linux clusters, with job managers, such as Sun Grid Engine, and parallel processing APIs, including MPI, are all essential. A strong UNIX background including privileged execution using jails and virtual machines is desired. Experience interfacing with web applications using REST design principles and C/C++ is also recommended. The candidate must be able to work self-sufficiently on a small team of developers, and be willing to proactively communicate ideas, issues, and accomplishments to the team.
