Rendering Safety Coordinator
, located in
The Rendering Safety Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and updating the Rendering Safety Management program for the facility. This includes working with operations to update standard operating procedures, conducting process hazard analysis on upcoming changes, and lead teams through the covered process Management of Change (MOC) program.
40% Update and maintain the process safety management plan for the rendering department.
20% Update and maintain comprehensive mechanical integrity program to ensure reliability and safety of rendering processing equipment, including inspection of major assets, pressure vessels, storage tanks.
10% Work closely with the project management team to ensure all projects are implemented according to the plant’s process safety management program.
10% Update and maintain Process and Instrumentation diagrams for inedible rendering, edible lard, and blood processes.
5% Maintain system for valve identification and tagging.
5% Lead Process Hazard Analyses for rendering areas.
5% Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all rendering processes and equipment.
5% Partner with rendering supervision and maintenance for work order scheduling and PM/PDM schedule.
Bachelors degree or 3 years experience
Ability to work across all levels of the organization
Communication skills to train and educate employees
Ability to work in hot and cold environments
Ability to travel up to 10%
Ability to work all shifts as needed, position will be primarily day shift
Ability to work weekends as plant is scheduled to operate
Bachelors Degree in a related field
Previous experience working in a rendering plant
Previous experience with managing Process Safety
