Salary:

Starting pay will not be less than $16.902 per hour TO $27.889 per hour ($35,291 to $58,232, annualized) plus excellent benefits. This position is in pay schedule and range 07-04. The Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison dedicates itself to the mission of providing athletic opportunities to a wide range of students in an environment in which all student-athletes can achieve their academic and competitive goals. The Division sponsors teams in 23 sports competing under the regulatory guidelines established by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Big Ten Conference and the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).

Job Duties: Serve as an Assistant to the Director of Football Operations and the Head Football Coach and also a resource and aide to 9 Assistant Football Coaches and the On-Campus Development/Recruiting Coordinator. This position is primarily responsible for communications and marketing for the Football Office. The position also oversees community service projects, summer jobs, parking, planning of the senior banquet, and summer camps. This position also serves as the direct contact for the transition of the freshmen student athletes. The position serves as a member of the advance group for all team travel (on site contact for the hotel, buses, and airlines.).

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The most qualified candidates will bring to this position the following knowledge, skills and abilities: Knowledge of NCAA and Big Ten rules and regulations; Effective decision making skills; Program planning skills and the ability to identify and develop alternative courses of action; Knowledge of communication and marketing best practices; Knowledge of public relations and interpersonal relationship skills; Ability to create a presence on social media networking (i.e. Facebook and Twitter); Knowledge of office management practices and skills; Organizational skills and ability to handle multiple task and details efficiently, often with a number of interruptions; Strong oral and written communication skills; Knowledge of office software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook); Knowledge of specific team policies and preferences in regard to team travel with specific approaches to team logistics with the head coach’s preference; and Knowledge of the game of football and how it relates to football operations and office protocol.
