PB’s Southern California Water Group has an immediate need for a full-time, permanent “seller/doer” to help build our capabilities and market share in the areas of flood control, water/wastewater, water conveyance, water resources, and/or desalination. In addition to a strong technical background, other requirements for this key position include business development, marketing, and project management skills.
Description of Duties:
â€¢ Project management and oversight of design elements of flood control, water resources, conveyance, and water supply projects.
â€¢ Marketing and business development, including development of client relationships, identifying and tracking contract opportunities, and leading proposal and interview efforts.
â€¢ Specific skills to include technical writing, project budget tracking and management, developing and maintaining project schedules, project management.
â€¢ Monitor project progress for technical accuracy and adherence to schedule and budget.
â€¢ Act as a PB representative at client meetings and at conferences.
â€¢ Plan, organize and supervise engineering staff and activities for projects of significant size and complexity.
Registrations/Certifications Required: California
Education and Qualifications Required:
BS or MS in civil engineering, minimum 15 years in water resources and engineering design (conveyance and/or flood control experience) and strong communication skills. The successful candidate should have significant experience with local, state, and federal agencies in the Los Angeles area and possess knowledge/relationships relating to major water initiatives in the region. Prior employment or intimate knowledge with local major water agencies (i.e. MWD, LADWP, USACE) is a plus.
Ideal candidates will be highly motivated, goal oriented, articulate and strategic in their approach to growing PB's water practice. Ability to build strong project teams using both internal staff and through effective teaming with other consultants is also important.
