    s Portland office, is seeking a principal level, Construction Manager / Estimator for its Design Center. The Portland, Maine Office is located one of the most livable cities in the US. AMEC offers the technical challenges of projects located throughout the US and international with the relaxed environment of a small, vibrant city.

    Key Responsibilities
    ·

    This individual will: interface with both internal and external clients; be dynamic, creative, quality driven, have excellent interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills; and be a proactive problem solver.
    ·
    Lead and prepare cost estimates for design-build and engineer-procure-construct projects in a competitive bid and negotiated environment.
    ·
    Interface between clients and design team.
    ·
    Prepare cost estimates at various project phases including but not limited to screening; feasibility; and 30%, 60%, and 90% design.
    ·
    Mentor mid-level staff and direct senior level staff.
    ·
    Provide direction and quality reviews for preparation of: construction plans and specifications, bidding documents, construction oversight documents, commissioning plans, and operation and maintenance manuals.
    ·
    Travel, as required, to meet clients and visit sites. Approximate travel 25% in the US.
    Basic/Required Qualifications
    ·

    Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred but not required.
    ·
    15 to 25 years of demonstrated construction management / cost estimating experience.
    ·
    Strong understanding of construction techniques and processes.
    ·
    Experience in producing estimates in a competitive environment, and assessing cost risks relative to contract terms and conditions.
    ·
    Knowledge of labor productivity, construction equipment requirements for various types of work, direct and general conditions cost, etc.
    ·
    Demonstrated experience using cost estimating software such as, Hard Dollar, Timberline, RS Means and Excel spreadsheets.
    ·
    Ability to work with construction scheduling software such as Primavera and MS Project.
    ·
    Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
    Preferred Qualifications
    ·

    Experience with commercial, industrial and heavy civil construction preferred
    ·
    Familiar with construction codes and OSHA requirements.
