Performs routine engineering and related work in assigned Engineering discipline (Mechanical) to design, develop and implement new designs and design changes. Demonstrates ability to independently handle routine assignments under direct supervision.
Applies standard engineering practices and techniques to specific or routine engineering situations.
Participates in the design and development of new designs and design changes related to components, units and/or systems assuring effective risk and reliability analysis, compliance with operating license commitments, ALARA and other factors as appropriate.
Analyzes and evaluates engineering problems, develops and tests optimum solutions, prepares and presents reports of findings and technical recommendations.
Coordinate engineering activities with other engineering departments and other site/fleet departments.
Maintains awareness of basic principles of nuclear power plant design and construction and applicable codes, standards and regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned. May be required to assume assignment outside of normal job duties and other duties as assigned
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) required. Experience through internship or coop in related industry preferred.
