The Engineering and Technology Acquisition Support Services (ETASS) contract provides a broad range of engineering support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's (AFLCMC's) programs located at Hanscom AFB and their geographically separated units.
Jacobs Technology is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Reliability and Maintainability Information System (REMIS). REMIS provides a single, primary Air Force database to collect, edit, validate, process, store, and report data on reliability and maintainability, trend analysis, failure prediction, and weapon system availability. REMIS consists of an integrated database containing weapon system and related equipment inventory, operational status, utilization, configuration management, TCTO (Time Change Technical Order) data, and reliability and maintainability analysis data -- current and historical -- and crosses weapon systems, equipment types, commands, and other data systems. REMIS currently is in a split production capability. Part of REMIS is hosted with a contractor facility on an HP Non-Stop platform (primarily COBOL-type code). Part of REMIS is hosted on the GCSS-AF framework (primarily JAVA and C++ type code).
REMIS requires technical support that will perform system engineering/system life cycle services in accordance with the System Engineering Process (SEP). Responsibilities include the following:
The ability to coordinatewith all engineering organizations bearing on program's outcomes (test organizations, GCSS-AF, etc.) is a must. The candidate must exhibit familiarity with Integrated Master Plans (IMP) and Schedules (IMS) to ensure system engienering tasks and activities are completed on time and with sufficient quality.
- Oversight of the System Integrator's (SI) design, build, test, deployment and sustainment activities, and associated compliance with the SEP.
- Create and maintain system development artifacts required by the SEP.
- Review and critique system engineering CDRL deliverables provided by the SI.
- Review and critique functional and technical design deliverables from the SI.
Candidates should possess the ability to review and critique program artifacts to ensure that the contents are clear, concise, and provide the technical detail necessary to support the program. Advise the Division Chief Engineer concerning Engineering "Go/NoGo" decisions.
BS degree and 10 years of experience; MS degree and 8 years of experience; or Ph.D. and 4 years of experience required.
This position requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
This position may require travel of up to one week per month.
Work may involve sitting for extended periods. May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of manufacturing and military sites or facilities where necessary.
Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.), and/or other industry-specific equipment.
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
