The Smarter Commerce Solutions and Platforms Team at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY is searching for doctoral/MBA students in business disciplines for Summer Internships in 2013.
Our department develops advanced analytics in the area of Smarter Commerce. We are working to invent the next generation of Smarter Commerce Solutions to turn data into insights and actions and enable new business processes that help companies buy, market, sell and service their products and services while achieving ever higher returns. The successful intern will join a multi-disciplinary team of research scientists, industry subject matter experts and software engineers working on a variety of applied research projects, including Big Data analytics solutions for retail, banking, and city governments. Past intern projects have resulted in academic publications, patents, marketing experiments and trials, advanced prototypes that get showcased at leading trade shows, and new capabilities in IBM product offerings. Intern candidates should have experience in one or more of the aforementioned fields (7); an established publication record; and must be enrolled in a graduate program (MBA/PhD) in marketing, applied economics, technology management, operations management, strategy or related fields.

Students are employees hired for a pre-professional/professional assignment while enrolled at a university/educational institution or just after completion of qualification and work for IBM as a required part of their academic program or work during vacation, breaks, and/or holiday periods or as a placement year, for example, co-ops and interns.
