Position requires thorough knowledge of chemical processing, chemical or industrial process design and engineering techniques. Responsible to plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and company standards.
Designs, drafts and details moderately complex projects.
Performs routine engineering calculations and estimates.
Coordinates work with other members of engineering staff.
Research equipment options and take vendor bids.
Field work may require taking dimensions and specifications from existing equipment.
Supervise assembly and installation of equipment.
Assist maintenance and production personnel in solving equipment problems.
Maintain appropriate documentation of work performed.
Continuous improvement in areas of safety, professional development, and adhering to company policies.
Special projects as assigned
Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field required.
Experience with computers and basic MS Office skills are required.
Must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Experience in the industry as an intern or other relevant time on the job is preferred.
Knowledge of industrial controls required. PLC programming a plus.
AutoCAD and Excel experience required. SolidWorks experience helpful.
