The Market Manager position is a leadership and operations role with responsibility for leading and managing all functions for successful operation of a radio station(s) in a specific market geography. This position is one of 130+ market managers who provide oversight for 850 radio stations across the United States. The Market Manager reports to a regional Executive Vice President Operations or Senior Vice President Operations.

Required Skills

The Market Manager is responsible for:
Operating the business by growing the audience , effectively growing sales revenue at rates that exceed industry or peer group, and continuing efficient operations to ensure cash flow growth at desired levels.

Leading and implementing initiatives that transform the business from a radio company to a media and entertainment company that provides integrated consumer platforms and advertiser solutions.

Implementing targeted, innovative, customer centric, business focused initiatives that drive revenue growth by leveraging appropriate resources and partnering with key stakeholders.

Managing complete P&L accountability and delivering top financial results for one of 130+ markets across the United States.

Ensuring operational rigor and management practices across a market – balancing the need for consistent regional execution of management routines and initiatives with local entrepreneurship.

Balancing focus on sales revenue with operational efficiency to maximize market potential.

Implementing the operational strategic plan and direction with Regional Market Manager and other Market Managers in
the Region and company.

Implementing the national digital radio platform and business strategy in partnership with key stakeholders (e.g. EVPOs, Technology, Marketing, Sales).

Achieving key region / national business metrics and implementing strategic initiatives through the radio stations (such as increasing audience (listener) ratings for stations within the market).

Establishing and cultivating relationships with advertisers, on air talent, entire radio station Staff, and community via civic engagement.

Identifying / growing exceptional talent , managing / coaching employee performance , and holding employees accountable against business metrics while leading, managing, and overseeing a culture of diversity and high ethical standards.

Communicating expectations clearly, in both individual and group settings supported with timely, thoughtful, quality, risk- based decisions.

Gaining buy in for and communicating the Clear Channel Radio vision internally and externally.

Leading through change with a clear and compelling style.

Required Experience

The Market Manager must possess:
A minimum of 5-8 years business management within the radio business or a company with strong product/customer interface.

A proven track record in running successful and profitable business operations with documented revenue growth success.

Excellent communication and influencing abilities across multiple levels.

Deep and broad business acumen with strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills.

The ability to lead and execute in a multi-task, fast-paced dynamic environment.

A strong talent mindset – exceptional people management and team performance experience.

An Undergraduate degree required; Graduate degree preferred.

A full appreciation of the values and culture of Clear Channel and the ability to excel within this environment is critical for success in the role.

People Development. With a focus on productivity, accountability and performance, he/she will have a successful track record leading and developing best-in-class teams. He/she will quickly assess the current team, putting the right people in the right roles, identifying and recruiting new talent where gaps exist, set clear expectations, demanding accountability, and coaching individual and team performance as needed.
