Under directions of the Logistics Manager, the Materials Clerk is responsible for basic functions in the Materials Department. The Materials Clerk needs to be able to work in 2 functions, with one function as their main responsibility. The functions are: Receiving/Distribution, Par system, Storeroom and OR Case Card system.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education: High School Graduate or GED
Experience: One year experience in a storeroom or warehouse, preferable in Hospital Materials Management.
Good communication, strong interpersonal skills and good problem solving skills. Provide excellent customer service. Working in a team. Ability to handle multiple task with frequent interruptions. Basic computer skills including MS Windows. Proficient in PMM Pathways, with Supply Tracking System and able to use hand held scanners. Self directed and able to work independently. Ability to operate standard office equipment, i.e., fax machine, printers, PC's. Can handle supply carts and can operate cardboard compactor, manual and powered pallet jacks.
Other: This position has limited access to Medication and Par Rooms. Medications should not be handled at any time. Any questions should be directed to your supervisor or the charge nurse of the unit in question.
