We presently have Full and Part-Time positions available in the San Fernando Valley area.
B.A. in education, psychology, or related field or experience relevant to relationship and/or skill building with persons with developmental disabilities;
Valid California Driver’s License and operational vehicle;
Possess physical ability to:
Implement all strategies as defined in IABA’s 'Emergency Management Guidelines', including geographical and physical containment.
Lift & Carry items weighing up to 25 pounds (e.g., groceries, houseware items, and move furniture.)
Physically assist, guide, & facilitate movement of consumers that need physical assistance (e.g., transfer in/out of wheelchair, support while walking, etc.).
Develops friendly respectful relationships with adults with developmental disabilities.
Completes specified number of required Criterion Referenced, Competency Based Training by end of 90 day Introductory Period, and remaining required topics by end of six months.
Facilitates day-to-day supports for and directly supervise individuals with developmental disabilities for total service day in employment and community settings.
Facilitates/provides functional training in vocational, domestic, recreational, leisure and community access in accordance with the Individual Service Plan.
Implements all support plans for individuals with developmental disabilities, in accordance with the Individual Service Plan and/or Comprehensive Functional Assessment, and data collection procedures as prescribed.
