The Category Strategist will serve as a strategist to key external customers, driving development and implementation of category iniatives to meet and exceed Hershey and customer financial objectives. The Category Strategist will be an expert in the pervasive application of insights to fuel category growth. Key role is synthesizing business trends, competitive trends, shopper insights, financial insights, etc., to identify opportunities and develop solutions to drive category growth across the store.

The Category Strategist will influence the development and implementation of category lead initiatives. The Category Strategist will influence and support the customers and/or Hershey 3 year and annual planning through pervasive use of insights and capabilities.

  • Act as the indespensible consultative partner internally and externally, driving projects to achieve Hershey and customer financial objecives. Isolate potential growth opportunities for the category and Hershey. Leverage hypothesis driven workflow process (DART) to deliver high impact analysis and presentations.
  • Develop and drive projects to activate growth driving executions with the customer. Leverage business analysis and insights to create solutions that drive growth. Effectively utilize the company’s insights and proprietary tools to drive profitable sales results.
  • Effectively penetrate horizontally and vertically to align key stakeholders on category lead initiatives
  • Assist CSE’s and Sales team partners in development of key presentations to internal and external customers.


Education: Bachelor's Degree Required

Experience: This position requires previous Category Management and/or CPG Sales experience (approximately 5-7 years), advanced analytical skills, advanced understanding of consumer\shopper behavior and market research strategies, knowledge of consumer sales industry trends and complete working knowledge of the category management process.
