This position is located in Wyomissing, PA.
The primary purpose of this position is to analyze the financial results of Corporate, Global Banking, and Multifamily business lines within SHUSA to ensure transactions are booked in compliance with Company accounting policies (US GAAP and IFRS (for parent reporting)). Also required is the development and maintenance of financial analysis models, including annual FAS 91 Deferred loan origination cost study, as well as special ad hoc analytical financial projects.
Prepare monthly loan yield analysis (for Multifamily portfolio and Leasing Businesses), and review related interest and average balance fluctuations. Document business reasons for variances. When applicable, ensure correcting journal entries are recorded.
Review monthly fee income and operating expenses (for Multifamily and leasing portfolios) and document business reasons for variances. When applicable, ensure correcting journal entries are recorded.
Assist in analysis of large or unique transactions/deals in Global Banking, and Corporate, businesses. Perform and manage special projects as directed by Corporate Accounting.
Assist in preparation of 10K/10Q narrative and footnotes, and also with international financial reporting requirements to parent company in Spain.
Complete annual FAS 91 loan origination cost study project for Multifamily and Leasing business units. This project includes developing time/cost studies, managing the distribution and collection of surveys, reviewing results for quality, calculating average cost per loan, and documenting process and findings. Monitor monthly FAS 91 cost deferrals.
Review financials transactions and operational procedures for compliance with GAAP. Communicate appropriate or changing accounting standards with Loan Operations or business units.
Field information requests related to Multifamily and Leasing business from auditors, business leaders, and others. Research and provide timely results.
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or Economics; MBA preferred
Minimum of 8 years financial reporting and analysis experience, preferably with a financial institution or direct from public accounting with banking experience
Licenses/Certifications - CPA
Strong analytical and Excel skills including spreadsheets, databases, and modeling
Detail oriented with ability to research, organize, and analyze financial data
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven record of leading project teams and managing workflow of others.
Must display tact and maintain strong working relationships in working with people from diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
Familiarity with operational procedures and activities in a bank is a plus.
