Coordinator – Safety Data Sheets

This is an exempt level position.

This position is responsible for maintaining up to date (Material) Safety Data Sheets in compliance with national regulations by facilitating the authoring of accurate ADM product Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Safety Data Sheets are entered into and housed in an authoring software system called the WERCS, and implementation and updating of information is accomplished by coordinating with company-wide business units, production divisions, IT, and regulatory professionals. Specific duties include:
· Coordinate drafting, approval, and publishing of safety data entered by business units, providing additional training, guidance and assistance when necessary, both in regard to regulatory and technical issues.
· Insure completeness and accuracy of data sheets.
· Provide support to various product business units by assisting with regulatory and product safety questions related to WERCS data as they arise.
· Coordinate with business units and third-party translation services in order to provide translated versions of existing English-language safety sheets as they are requested.
· Collaborate with IT personnel to troubleshoot and resolve system issues, facilitate upgrades, and implement improvements. This role may also work with regulatory professionals and business units to build system automation rules based on chemical safety and regulatory needs.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and good working knowledge of computer data base system manipulation. Excellent communication skills and literature research skills are needed. Position requires an ability to proactively interact with business units, technical personnel, information technologists and regulatory professionals. Knowledge of chemical safety, international SDS requirements, product hazard classification criteria, and WERCS software are desirable, but may be acquired on the job.
