The Zhou laboratory in Arkansas Biosciences Institute ( at the Arkansas State University seeks a post-doctoral Research Associate to conduct cancer-related life/biomedical science research. Our main goals are to understand how cell signaling systems regulate the actin cytoskeleton/cell motility. We focus on a number of proteins involved in cell growth and survival signaling and also regulate the cytoskeleton/cell motility, by mostly using cultured mammalian cell systems combined with approaches including molecular biology, cellular biology and biochemistry. We are also interested in using transgenic mouse models to study biological functions of the proteins as well as those under pathological conditions.

Relevant publications: Mol. Cell. Biol. (2003), 23, 8058-8069; J.

Biol. Chem. (2006), 281, 36443-36453; J. Cell Sci.

(2008), 121(17), 2913-2920. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in molecular/cellular biology or a closely-related life/biomedical science discipline. The ideal candidate would be a motivated scientist with strong background in molecular biology (on the DNA and protein levels) and expertise on cell culture and microscopy.

Solid background in signal transduction is preferred and knowledge/experience working with transgenic mice is considered a plus. Interested parties must apply through an online system. Please attach a cover letter, a comprehensive CV and a list of reference: Position #: A 00253.
