This position can be a Contracts Specialist(A02) or Contracts Negotiator (A03) based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

This position is an IDS Contracts position working within the Integrated Air & Missile Defense (IAMD) Business Area with 2013 projected Sales >$2B.

Primary responsibilities will include supporting the Patriot Systems Business Area, which has 2012 projected Sales of greater than


as the Contracts lead for United States (U.S.) and Foreign Military Sale (FMS) Patriot Spares Contracts with the U.S. Army Contracting Command – Redstone (ACC-R) totaling > $380M in contract value.

In addition to being the Contracts lead on ACC-R Spares Contracts, the person in this position will also be required to provide support to other Patriot Systems Contracts, such as Defense Logistics Agency Spares contracts, on an as required basis.

Duties will include participation in front-end assessment of business pursuits, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and significant customer activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment of contract requirements in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

Candidate must be able to readily adapt in a challenging, fast-paced environment. The Contract Professional supporting this key business area is responsible for management of the customer relationship, the provision of business counsel and leadership to the Program Management Teams, together with expedited proposal, negotiation and/or definitization of contracts that are critical to IDS and IAMD Programs.

Basic Qualifications:
2+ years directly related experience in U.S. Government contract administration, finance, proposal preparation, contract negotiation.

Experience with of U.S. Government acquisition and related regulations, e.g. FAR, DFARS, and ITAR and/or equivalent government regulations

BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field

Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with the Integrated Contract Management System (ICMS)

Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts and other business arrangements

Effective communicator both orally and in writing; strong analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills; be adaptable to a variety of business situations.

Must have the ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork and trust.

Must be capable of handling multiple assignments concurrently

Possess excellent time management and organizational skills

Knowledge of basic financial business principles and an understanding of applicability to contracts and business

Strong business acumen with the ability to recognize risk elements in business transactions
