This is a growth series position Nuclear Environmental Coordinator (GL6), Nuclear Senior Environmental Specialist (GL7) & Nuclear Principal Environmental Specialist (GL8). ** The title and market reference point assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience from the interview process.
Directs, administers, coordinates, and implements Environmental Compliance Programs and processes for the facility/operating organization in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulatory requirements, as well as Company policies and procedures.
This specific position will be focused on the radiological programs [Integrated Tritium Management Plan, REMP, RETS, and ODCM] in direct support and reporting to the Manager – Environmental Sustainability and supporting the site REMP Coordinator.
These will generally be the more complicated and challenging Environmental Compliance Programs and processes for the facility/operating organization in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulatory requirements, as well as Company policies and procedures. The position will lead environmental teams in response to regulatory and compliance issues. Duties include implementation, modification and update of standardized environmental programs to address unique and evolving facility operational conditions. Provide environmental orientation and training as appropriate.
Prepare reports and correspondence; routine and non-routine activities and incidents. Ensuring environmental compliance avoids fines, penalties and other legal liability, as well as damage to the company’s reputation
Basic Qualifications: Technical Associate Core Competencies. Knowledge of Environmental and radiological regulatory requirements, facility operations, environmental scientific principles. Interpersonal conflict resolution. Basic PC application skills. Very strong verbal/written skills. Ability to work with and positively influence teams. Collaboration, negotiation and communication skills. Championing growth of skills of self and others through effective leadership of environmental programs.
Previous experience in utility systems and regulatory background in environmental media. Experience with regulatory requirements of radiological effluents, air, water, spill, waste, and / or land use programs. Some experience in information management systems and applications. Team player, self-starter. Strong technical writing and attention to detail Ability to participate in cross functional teams engaged in resolution of technical environmental issues.
Required Competencies: BS in science or engineering; experience in an industrial facility, or environmental related field. Valid drivers license
