Follows the leadership/direction of supervisor or other senior technical publications specialists; sometimes leads the entire project.

– Errors in work may cause delays in program schedules and may cause allocation of additional resources.

Acts as Project Manager –

Negotiates/Manages External Performance –

Maintains contact with other functional areas as well as Product Engineering.

Represents Product Engineering in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects or components.

Mentors –

Provides formal mentoring to junior members of team. Looks for opportunities to assist others toward improving their skills and understanding technical or process related issues on their work projects.

Qualifications

ENGINEERING PROCESSES and DELIVERABLES REQUIRED for PROJECTS*:

·

Follows and maintains the departmental processes and procedures.

·

Prepares 2- and 3D technical illustrations and parts lists utilizing engineering models, drawings, physical parts, previously prepared manuals, electronic parts lists and other information.

·

Interacts with Engineering and Service Parts in determining the required service parts.

·

Creates Owner's Manual and Service Guides, Service Parts Manuals, Technician's Repair and Service Manuals and Field Kits.

·

Conducts peer-reviews of publications prior to distribution.

·

Produces label artwork for company products and other graphics used by the company.

·

Revises all previously described documents.

·

Accomplishes all work using computer generated artwork and text.

·

Provide input to management concerning new software tools, techniques, and training programs.

·

Assists the Design Processes & Services Manager in developing a training program for tech pubs personnel.

·

Assists the Design Processes & Services Manager in screening and interviewing technical publications candidates for US and overseas assignments.

·

Provides advice concerning improvements to technical communications techniques, and keeps current on trade practices.

·

Assists Product Engineering personnel in material selection for vehicle labels and decals.

·

Coordinates workload of GTC tech pubs team assigned to the coordinator’s vehicle team, based on priorities set by the Design Processes & Services Manager.

·

Assures that the tech pubs SharePoint CN tracking sheet is kept accurate and up-to-date.

·

Works with Design Processes & Services Manager to allocate resources among other vehicle teams in technical publications, based on workload and program schedule.

·

Corresponds daily with GTC tech pubs team assigned to the coordinator’s vehicle team.

·

Performs checking of documents produced by GTC tech pub specialists assigned to the coordinator’s vehicle team.

·

Compiles manuals for vehicle team and uploads to the E-Z-GO printing system.

EDUCATION:
Associate of Science degree

, Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent work experience
