Job Summary: To achieve hotel revenue, profit and customer satisfaction goals by seeking out, identifying and selling hotel group and catering business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Participates in the development of catering sales and marketing strategies
¨ Develops and implements strategies for achieving individual catering sales goals
¨ Achieves catering sales goals by developing and implementing sales strategies
¨ Contacts potential business in local banquet market through appointments or cold calls
¨ Contacts group business to determine catering needs
¨ Clarifies customer requirements and suggests alternative menus, themes, etc.
¨ Prepares proposals for client which outline details of proposed functions; coordinates preparation of estimates with other food and beverage departments
¨ Negotiates sale of catering sales functions
Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the service brand behavior, genuine hospitality and by exceeding guest expectations
¨ Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service
¨ Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems
¨ Performs other duties as required with outstanding hospitality
The right candidate will be a sales & revenue drive professional, who can contribute to the success of this hotel. This sales person must be a self-starter, organized, and a team player who has shown great aptitude in sales, especially closing the business.
Confers with department heads to discuss and formulate plans for soliciting business.
Contacts executives of organizations to explain services and facilities offered by hotel and to solicit their business.
Experience - 3-5 years Hotel sales and catering experience in the Nashville area preferred.
Minimum 3 years outside or group sales experience in the food-service industry or related field
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
High energy, positive personality
Cold calling, networking and presentation skills
Strong organizational skills, can-do attitude
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively meet all deadlines
Results orientated sales person who can work with limited supervision
Proven record of success
Solid computer skills working with Microsoft word excel, etc.
