This position is in the Air Force Global Strike Command.

The mission of the Air Force Global Strike Command is to develop and provide safe, secure and credible combat-ready forces for nuclear deterrence and global strike operations to support the President of the United States and combatant commanders.

provides

assistance,

advice,

and

authoritative

references

to

work-center

supervisors

and

unit

leadership.

Establishes

and

maintains

a

technical

publications

program

(i.e.,

technical

orders,

Air

Force

Network

Operating

Procedures,

etc.).

Plans

and

develops

methods,

procedures,

policies,

and

techniques

concerning

telecommunication

systems.

Reviews

work-center

facility,

systems

installation

and

equipment

records

management.

·

Implements

telecommunication

programs

and

special

projects.

Implements

various

communications

programs

.

Updates

documentation

and

maintains

listings

of

all

authorized

equipment

for

assigned

programs.

Prepares

budget,

technical

reports,

staff

studies,

and

briefings

.

Prepares

budgetary

data

in

support

of

programs/projects.

Develops

reports

on

the

contractor's

quality

performance.

Manages/maintains

cost

data.

Prepares

correspondence

and

project

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR THE GS-09:
One

(1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-07) or equivalent.

Specialized experience for GS-09 requires practical knowledge and application of standard/commonly applied principles, concepts, methods and practices in telecommunications. Projects are well-defined and usually resolved by established approaches and techniques.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR THE

FOR THE GS-11:
One (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-09) or equivalent. Specialized experience for the GS-11 requires knowledge of a wide range of communications concepts principles, and practices. Work encompasses complex and uncommon interfaces and policies and practices; sources of technical data to evaluate new devices, proposals, and approaches; and a practical understanding of contracting procedures and legal requirements.

Federal Time-In-Grade

(TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions:
Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-07 or higher grade to be eligible for GS-09 or must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-09 or higher grade to be eligible for GS-11, (or equivalent in an alternate pay system), within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral.

The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.
