BAE Systems is seeking an SCA Engineering Technician to join the Installation and Technical Support team supporting the Naval Surface Weapons Center, Port Hueneme, CA.
This position is awaiting contract award and funding which is currently scheduled for the November 2012 timeframe.
This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and salary is determined by the Department of Labor Wage Determination cited in the Contract for the appropriate labor category.
The successful candidate will be a member of the team providing waterfront services for installing, upgrading, removing and relocating U.S. Navy integrated self defense combat systems. The technician will be expected to perform these services in all U.S. Navy homeports, Land Based Test Facilities and other locations as designated by the customer. Frequent travel is required.

Required Skills/Experience:
High School diploma or GED
Experience in one or more of the following areas: Ship foundation modifications using large saws and grinders for steel and aluminum and other special tools associated with installation/upgrade modernizations to U.S. Navy ships; Welding, lagging, skid fabrication, and rigging; Equipment installation, equipment removal, equipment relocation; Installing shipboard cables, soldering, wiring, multi-cable penetrations, electrical power panels and junction boxes, red-lining installation drawing
Highly Desired Skills/Experience:
Experience working with or installing any of the following systems: SSDS, CIWS, NSSMS, RAM and other integrated combat systems
Familiarity with U.S. Navy tracking and shipping material using DD 1149
Experience with MS Office products
Completion of OSHA 10 hour Maritime Safety Course
