Healthcare Informatics Analyst
Lovelace Medical Center - Albuquerque, NM
Provides support to leadership using key data from select databases with the goal of improving LMC quality initiatives, specifically as they relate to NPS, HCAPS, Studer, and potentially other activities. Also coordinates and schedules senior leadership team (SLT) monthly rounding, and compiles, inputs and reports based on findings from rounding. Helps provide the team in gathering, interpreting and summarizing complex data to help facilitate current and future programs. Strong measurement skills will be required to quantify the numerous components of health care such as efficiency, cost, outcome and utilization. In addition, the Analyst will assist in maintaining effective data analysis and public reporting policies; supports strategic goals; and assists in collaborative relationships with all stakeholders according to the goals and objectives of the organization. The Analyst will be expected to perform some clerical tasks in support of data base maintenance, data entry and QA work, however, core duties are focused significantly on analytics

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Math, Health Care Management, Health Economics, or another directly related analytical discipline.
Master’s degree preferred.

Demonstrated skill in analyzing complex data, using tools such as the Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel and Access), SAS, PAWS, or other directly related data mining and analysis tools. Demonstrated skill with VB scripting, writing and running macros (Excel), relational data base design and usage (Access, SQL or other), pivot tables, cross tab reporting or other directly related processes.
Demonstrated ability in performing statistical analysis, data interpretation, trending and variance analysis.
Uses effective project management skills, including appropriate project planning and tracking tools; developments achievable goals, objectives, and timelines; and demonstrates innovative use of resources.
Demonstrates an understanding of data management, data mining (using tools such as Diver), process improvement and quality initiatives and experienced in the development of technical specifications of quality of care measures.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
Must have a broad understanding and knowledge of clinical operations and programs.
