Job Purpose and Scope:

To attract new customers, to serve existing customers both in person and by telephone; to provide the kind of service which would make people want to do business with Bank of the Ozarks.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Arrive at work promptly and as scheduled, following written security procedures.

  • Provide assistance to customers in lobby, drive-through and over the telephone.

  • Open checking accounts, savings accounts, certificates of deposit, and IRAs.

  • Order checks and deposit tickets.

  • Sell bank products and services.

  • Respond to and follow-up with customer inquiries, complaints, and problems.

  • Type and mail new customer letters.

  • Approve checks/deposits up to the limit set by bank policy and the manager.

  • Function as a teller as assigned or needed.

  • Ensure branch facility is opened and closed according to proper procedures as assigned or needed.

  • Handle opening, closing, and maintenance of safe deposit boxes. Responsible for the collection efforts and drilling of past due safe deposits.

  • Handle branch security issues in absence of manager.

  • Provide assistance to customers in lobby, drive-through, and over the telephone.

  • Accurate utilization of the teller system and computer system.

  • Make Mortgage Loan, Trust, First Data and IPI referrals.

  • Preparation of Cashier’s Checks and Traveler’s Checks and daily reconciliation of such items.

  • Regular use of fax, copier, check protector, and currency counter.

  • Daily balancing of ATM.

  • Work closely with support personnel in researching customer requests.

  • Adhere to written bank policies and procedures as directed.

  • Maintain good punctuality and attendance to work.

  • On-boarding customers into Bankers Insight

  • Work on campaign leads and alerts through Bankers Insight

  • Work closely with team mates to reach branch key performance indicators (Banker’s Insight)

  • Marginal Duties:

  • Order supplies

  • Process loose coin through automatic coin machine

  • Strap and bundle currency to be sold to the Federal Reserve Bank

  • Familiarity with consumer lending application process.

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to use a 10-key calculator

  • Position Requirements

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum six (6) months cash handling experience

  • Minimum six (6) months customer service experience

  • 10-Key knowledge
