This position assists in a variety of food preparation duties, completion of special work projects, and cleaning of a food service area.
Cooks or prepares such food items as breakfast, lunch, or dinner foods, coffee, drinks, tray items, sandwiches, salad dressings, meat items, cheese or vegetable trays, salad bar item, etc.
Assists cooks, bakers, or chefs as needed in food production or other food service activities.

Assists in setting up, stacking, breaking down, and cleaning food service lines, salad bars, etc during meal periods.
Breaks down and cleans various stations as well as cleans a variety of kitchen equipment on a regular basis.
Rotates food items as is appropriate to item.
Prepares or utilizes production sheets to determine amounts needed for serving areas.
Cleans various food service, food preparation equipment, storage areas, etc.. This may include cleaning glass and general polishing, sweeping, wiping, or mopping of other areas or surfaces.
removes garbage from assigned areas, sets up or breaks down tables, snack bars, display cases, serving lines, etc.
May complete menu display announcements as outlined by a supervisor.
May handle or organize freight on a regular basis.
Other related duties may also be assigned.

- These duties may also be combined with other position duties such as a warewashers, cook's assistant, etc.
· At least one year of work experience or documented vocational training sufficient to demonstrate a knowledge of cleaning equipment, food preparation, general cleaning processes, or a suitability for this type of work.
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical assessment, and a background check.

Language skills sufficient to:
1. Read a limited number of 2 to 3 syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words or a series of numbers. 2. Effectively communicate with other employees.
Math skills sufficient to
add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide including using these operations with weight measurement, or volume.
Reasoning abilities sufficient to:
1. Apply common sense understanding to carry out simple 1 or 2 step instructions with only occasional or no variables. 2. Work effectively with other employees and supervisors.
The employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, kneel, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee must continuously lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific Requirements Listed Below:
: Lift 50 lbs from floor to knuckle x 2,
: Lift 50 lbs from floor to waist x 2,

Stoop & Twist:
Perform alternate cross over toe touches x 10 each side, self-paced but continuous,
: Kneel on one knee and stand. Return to kneel on opposite knee. Repeat alternate
kneeling sequence x 5 for each knee, self-paced but continuous,
: Functionally squat x 5, self-paced but continuous,
Climb up and down 10 steps x 6 for a total of 60 steps, allow 30 second rest after climbing up and down each set of 30 steps, self-paced,
Stairs and Carry
: Climb up and down 10 steps x 6 for a total of 60 steps while carrying 10 lbs in one hand and using the other hand to grasp a railing for safety, self-paced.
Allow a 30 second rest period after climbing up and down 30 steps while carrying.
Close vision is required. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to cold non-weather, to fumes, airborne particles, and moderately caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods of time. Must have the stamina to work on 8 to 12 hour shifts for extended periods of time.
