Interactive Intelligence, TechPoint’s Tech Company of the Year, is seeking an experienced Cloud System Architect for its’ Communication as a Service (CaaS) group. The goal of CaaS is to scope, engineer, and deliver high quality solutions for Cloud services customers in a timely manner. The CaaS group works with customers to understand business needs and provide solutions within the Cloud services model. CaaS has become an integral part of Interactive Intelligence’s growth strategy and is helping the company’s revenues “soar into the Clouds”.
Leveraging cutting edge technology across enterprise level platforms, the Cloud System Architect is responsible for working as part of a team to design, build, document, and maintain the overall network and data center architecture used to deliver our Cloud Service offerings. This is a senior, highly technical role responsible for evaluating new data centers and designing, implementing, and documenting the core infrastructure within those data centers. Technologies being used include HP Blade chassis, Cisco Catalyst and Cisco Nexus platforms, ASA firewalls, Big-IP F5 load balancers, Citrix, NetApp, and Acme Session Border Controllers.
Work with the CaaS network and data center engineers to design the infrastructure for CaaS operations with the objective of 99.999% uptime.
Involved in the definition, management, and implementation of significant data center technology focused projects.
Ensure that the technical infrastructure will provide optimal manageability for the CaaS operations team
Document the approved data center architecture with the redundancy requirements.
Implement infrastructure in new/existing datacenters.
Document all procedures and policies around the data center including:
o Component architecture
o Data center connectivity and redundancy
o Tests/audits for compliance
Review prospect architectures for compliance.
Evaluate new data center technologies.
Manage the infrastructure aspects of opening a new data center including hardware recommendations, telephony and connectivity.
Mentor other CaaS operations team members.
Bachelor’s degree in computer related field with at least 8+ years’ experience with LAN and WAN architectures and technologies; CCIP or CCNP Certification a plus
Experience managing large scale architectural data center design projects
Network and/or data center experience in a 24x7 production environment
Excellent consultative, mentoring and negotiation skills
Excellent communication, customer service and documentation skills
Ability to understand system requirements, business drivers, and priorities, and integrate these requirements into overall network and data center design.
