The Risk Manager – Global Consumer Reserve Analytics provides analytic support to the Global Consumer Risk team to ensure robust monitoring, testing and consistent reserving methodologies across the approximately $110B Global Consumer Finance business. The role provides an independent perspective on reserving methodology.

Essential Responsibilities
The role interacts with internal and external customers to understand reserve methodologies and industry practices, while ensuring controllership under GECC reserve policy guidelines.

Essential Responsibilities :
  • Review and analyze reserving methodologies of Consumer Finance businesses.
    o Drive standardization in methodology and procedures across sub-business units.
    o Review and increase segmentation in reserve calculations across products.
  • Identify gaps and/or alternate approaches to models/methodology and recommend improvements.
    o Gain support from senior leadership
    o Drive implementation timelines for approved model changes.
  • Partner on the implementation of reserving policies.
  • Work with Consumer Finance businesses to prepare for regulatory reviews of reserves - model methodology, validation, controllership
  • Participate in quarter closing reserve adequacy reviews with business CFOs/ CROs
    o Lead process to gather data at sufficient granularity to assess reserve adequacy at product/market level
  • Interface with independent model validation and governance functions
  • Support strategic business objectives with relevant data and analysis.

    Qualifications/Requirements
    Basic Qualifications :
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics or business related field
  • 6+ years of reserve lead role in top financial institution (s) supporting consumer finance
  • Experience in ALLL policy management in consumer credit industry with regulatory interface

    Eligibility Requirements :
  • MUST be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • MUST submit application for employment through COS (internal candidates) or (external candidates) to be considered for this position.
  • MUST be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to, drug testing, reference verification and background check.
  • MUST be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Must be willing to work out of an office in Norwalk, CT

  • Solid knowledge of Basel / regulatory framework – supporting stress testing, loss forecast, reserving
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and experience presenting to Senior Leadership
  • Strong analytic and attention to detail required with the proven ability to analyze complex data and
    draw sound and easily understood conclusions
  • Strong influencing and proven project management skills in a matrix environment
  • Familiarity with accounting ALLL guidelines (FASB, others)
