To manage general ledger activities and the production of various financial statements, reports, and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances, and other financial results. Formulates and administers approved accounting practices within a business, plant location or corporate environment to ensure the development of accurate and consistent financial and operating reports.

Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses for an assigned business or plant location

Hire, coach, train, and supervise accounting/clerical staff

Develop and review monthly reports; make adjusting journal entries as needed

Compile and analyze data to prepare entries to general ledger

Maintain a system of internal controls to safeguard assets

Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy in processing month-end closing; conduct quarterly balance sheet review, analysis, and reconciliation

Prepare and submit Profit and Loss Statements and quarterly forecasts Review and approve invoices and requisitions

Compile, prepare, and present budget and forecasting information to management

May develop and prepare of strategic plan financials

May participate in the preparation of quarterly tax returns and tax reports

May participate in the management of Capital Project Management Systems (CPMS); participate in the analysis of determining project viability; oversee the tracking of project costs and other key project indicators

Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations

Perform other duties as necessary

Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Demonstrated knowledge of current local, state, and federal laws

Knowledge of licensing and regulatory requirements

Knowledge of current budgeting and forecasting methods

Strong analytical and organizational skills

Demonstrated project management and supervisory skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to collect and assemble data for the development of financial reports

Ability to operate a computer and supporting software packages

Ability to analyze complex information and formulate decisions

Ability to work on multiple projects

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; advanced degree in same desirable.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation desirable

5 plus years of demonstrated accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment

Demonstrated project management experience

Demonstrated supervisory experience

Or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position

Office environment

Occasional travel and extended work hours required
