Come join Twitter’s growing Legal team as a Patent Agent!

You’ll be responsible for the preparation and prosecution of patent applications here at Twitter, including managing outside counsel during the prosecution process. A significant portion of your job will be to acquire a deep understanding of Twitter’s technologies and to collaborate with engineers and product managers on helping to formulate patent strategy. Your responsibilities may also grow to include assisting with infringement and invalidity analysis. You will be dealing with a rapidly scaling business, and you’ll help to influence the Legal Team’s culture within this growing company.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:
Identify inventions that can be patented and conduct invention-disclosure meetings.

Review patent applications and coordinate efforts with outside patent counsel.

Perform preliminary infringement and invalidity analyses.

Educate company employees on patents and the patent process.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree, with strong academic record and computer science preferred.

At least 3 years of relevant patent prosecution experience.

Eligible to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Demonstrated experience identifying technologies that can be patented.

Solid technical knowledge of computer science, the Internet and hardware.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Self-motivated and able to work independently and with a team.
