The Genomics Core Laboratory (GCL) is the Microarray Core Facility of MSKCC. The candidate will be part of a team handling Affymetrix, Illumina and Agilent microarray platform,. Under supervision, the candidate will perform RNA/DNA extraction from frozen or FFPE sample; prepare labeled material and hybridize microarray. The candidate should be proficient in basic molecular biology technique.
The candidate will work in a team atmosphere with a lot of interactions with coworkers and users of the core facility. He/she should be able to comminucate effectively with colleagues and senior management.
Other functions include preparing solutions and buffers for experiments, help maintain the laboratory equipment, order lab supplies, maintain user database of all experiments, and maintain accurate recrods of all work performed and all data produced.
MS in biology/biotechnology + 1-3 years of experience, or BA or BS (biological or natural sciences) + 3 to 5 years of experience working in a research laboratory with a focus on molecular biology.
Candidates must be computer literate, have excellent communication skills and ability to work in collaborative groups.
