OVERVIEW OF ROLE:|
Utilize deep understanding of the retirement plans business and Hartford Funds to increase sales of institutional mutual funds in the advisor channel.
Develop deep relationships with retirement focused advisors utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills and consultative selling techniques.
Manage time effectively working with DCIO external partners; scheduling meetings, following up on actionable items, and helping identify retirement plan advisors
Actively participate in the build of business plans for retirement advisor market for respective territories Coordinate with Investment Advisory Group, as appropriate, to create materials/reports as needed for follow-up.
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?
Coordinate closely with Record Keeper National Accounts Team to develop strong working relationships with key Record Keeper’s Sales Desks
Coordinate with sales team to develop and deliver very pointed marketing campaigns
Fully utilize all aspects of salesforce.com to drive sales activities and keep organized
Seeks advice and consent from management as appropriate
Filter through mutual fund marketing materials for pieces useful within institutional markets and disseminate as appropriate
Initiates resolution of problems when good business practice may clash with sales goals
Effectively manages multiple priorities and projects
Has proven ability to build effective business relationships in multi-layered organizations
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
5+ years in financial services, sales/marketing
Technical proficiency of mutual funds
Distribution channel experience
Strong qualified plan product and market knowledge
Existing relationships with retirement advisors
Very strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong technical skills including Fi360, Larkspur, and Salesforce.com
Strong understanding of the marketing and sales process, how to prospect for brokers and clients and close the sale
10-15% Travel required
