As part of the TV Support Team, will provide systems support of broadcast IT and video production/ delivery systems. Will be accountable for the operational management, service delivery and day-to-day support of dedicated television production capabilities located in New York. Will be part of an overall global team supporting and operating facilities in Editorial newsrooms throughout the world.

Will involve close engagement with the Editorial production groups and managers on a day-to-day basis. Requires a strong customer centric focus on service and support.

Will be responsible for implementing both globally driven and locally requested project deliverables.

This role includes studio-based, broadcast television and broader areas of multimedia support.

Operational hours may vary as business priorities and programming schedules change. Out-of-hours or weekend system/software upgrades will require onsite IT/engineering support presence. As part of a wider engineering pool, overtime, shift work and night shifts may also be a requirement.


A self-motivated Broadcast professional with broad expertise in all areas of Television/ IT engineering and management. Requires a dedicated hands-on and proactive approach to work.

Manage & provide daily Support & Monitoring for all appropriate systems.
Field news coverage technologies.
Video/ File conversion, transmission, transfer and streaming technologies.
Broadcast Video Server systems.
Newsroom Information and Communication systems.
Live studio video production systems.
Research, evaluate, design and deploy technical solutions for multi media operations.
Responsible for making technical budget proposals.
Focus on continual service improvement.
Will be expected to follow a Change Management process according to global corporate best practices.

Undergraduate degree, relevant professional training, or equivalent experience.

Required Skills

Strong combination of both IT and broadcast TV technology experience. .

Excellent background in Network architecture and topologies.

Excellent knowledge of internet security, firewalls, and server technology.

Creative and solution oriented focus

Excellent knowledge of Server-based production, editing and delivery systems.

5 years broadcast IT/ TV experience.

In-depth knowledge of video/audio file standards and characteristics.

HDSDI video routing infrastructure.

Excellent problem diagnosis and troubleshooting.

Excellent customer-facing written and verbal communication.

Proven ability to train others.

Effective Vendor management

Desired Skills

Knowledge of ITIL best practices.

Apple Final Cut Pro in a shared network environment.

Avid ACSR certification.

Cisco/ Microsoft certifications

Professional satellite reception infrastructure.

Component level electrical and electronic maintenance.

Agility in IT coding techniques including working knowledge of a recognised coding language, with strengths in application development.
