Arapahoe Department of Human Services currently has two openings for a Business Associate II in Littleton. The Business Associate II performs a variety of job duties related to Trails database system for open Children, Youth and Families clients. This position does require the ability to work with multiple computer systems. As a Business Associate II you are responsible for eligibility programs. Also, you may be responsible for authorizing payments in Trails following signed contracts, confirmation of available budget and funds, timely receipt of approved invoices, written reports, and confirmation from caseworkers and services rendered. Timeliness and organization skills are very important to ensure cases are processed within the regulated time frame. This position will interact with a number of professionals, such as caseworkers, supervisors, vendors, providers, and other government agencies.


Assists with revenue generation by completing applications and maintenance for Title IV-E Foster Care Program, Security Supplementary Insurance, and Veteran's Administration.

Completes initial and annual eligibility determinations for federal funds dealing with all children in out-of-home placements.

Completes initial and renewal applications for Social Security and Supplemental Social Security.

Responsible for completion of initial and annual eligibility determination for Medicaid services.

Ensures Medicaid entitlements are open and closed in a timely manner for accurate payment for medical/dental care.

Works closely with Community Support Services and State Medicaid staff to avoid overlapping services.

Maintain a case file on each open Children, Youth and Families case, which contains confidential information.

Files and retrieves information as requested or otherwise necessary and ensures appropriate documentation for audits that occurs throughout the year by the county,
state, and federal governments.

Maintains ongoing communication and works closely with other Child Welfare staff, Community Support Services staff, Child Support Enforcement staff, State Child Welfare staff, Social Security Administration, clients, providers, hospitals, and County Attorneys to ensure accuracy of entitlements for clients and to ensure proper state and federal funding to Arapahoe County.

Provides quality assurance functions for the Children, Youth and Families division by printing reports, reporting system problems, and completing detailed research into entitlement histories.

Receives ongoing training from Child Welfare State staff around rules and regulations relating to all entitlements in regards to Volume VII and Volume VIII.

Receives training from Trails and Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS) staff regarding system fixes, enhancements, and modifications to state systems and provides assistance to other Children, Youth and Families staff using the system as needed.



High School Diploma/GED required. Prefer an Associate's degree.


Two years experience processing and analyzing data using software applications of word processing, Internet, email, Access, and Excel software programs. Prefer four years of experience. Understanding child welfare State and Federal regulations is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with child welfare or public assistance regulations related to foster care financial programs is highly desirable.

Experience with Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS) and Trails.

Experience with Human Services.
