Performs Maintenance Planning – analyze situations, determines objectives, prepares action plans, prepares budgets, examines alternatives, prepares reports Organizes, directs and coordinates all aspects of maintenance activities to include delegation, assign work, establish work plans, hold staff accountable, measures effectiveness Determines staffing requirements, trains associates, develops supervision, administers discipline Motivates associates, establishes rewards, establish standards and leads by example Controls through metrics (KPI’s), directs activities, prepares corrective actions, controls labor expenditure Assists with all repair and maintenance functions and performs in absence of Maintenance Technician Administers meetings, sets agenda Develops problem solution and implements corrective actions to reverse negative trends Decision making authority with budget oversight Controls general expenses Proposes capital improvements Communicates with the Operations department to coordinate Maintenance and repair work in process areas. Ensure that all equipment to the highest possible standards. Communicates directly with QC to ensure effective participation by maintenance technicians in the implementation of QC policies and procedures. Assists in the hiring of Maintenance personnel. Maintain a clean and safe work environment with consideration of all those who may be working in the same area. Tracks, analyzes, and improves key Maintenance parameters such as assets utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc. Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department and reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians. Coordinates activities with the Plant Operations Departments. Assist with Capital improvement projects as needed. Enter Maintenance Data in CMMS program and ensure that the system is update and accurate. Perform any required Fabrication Duties needed. Monitor all supplies within the Maintenance shop and maintain proper inventory control. Coordinate continual updating of PM program to the equipment’s specific needs. Identify problems and implement solutions. Ensure that your work environment is safe. Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices Coordinates Fabrication and Modification of new and existing equipment. Responsible for 24 hr. emergency Maintenance service as needed. Carry pager/cell phone as required for on-call Maintenance services.
Assists with planning/implementing of plant improvements and expansions. Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the Maintenance technicians. Maintains and updates operating /training manuals for the Maintenance department. Supervises Plant/Building maintenance personal. Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors. Complete employee payroll time sheets. Comply with all company Quality, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety Standards

This position will ensure that the equipment in all Production areas is running to the highest mechanical level possible to provide the best work environment for the Production Staff.

The success of this position relies highly on a close working relationship with the Production Staff.

Good knowledge and understanding of Compressed Air systems and components. Understand the process of Greasing Bearings and other mechanical Motion components. Good knowledge of High Pressure Steam Systems and the components associated with them. A General knowledge of the operation of Robot Automation. Operate Pallet Jack, Aerial Lifts, and Fork Lifts Operate a personal computer and peripherals. A complete understanding of the operation of Hand Tools and Power Tools. Ability to write detailed repair reports as well as good verbal communication. In Depth knowledge of the operations a Confectionery Plant is an asset. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a good understanding of basic office computer software. Must have the ability to work effectively with Computerized Maintenance Management System and instruct others on its operation.

2 - 4 Years of Maintenance Manager experience within a Production environment. At least 2-4 years of successful supervisory experience, preferably within a food processing plant environment. Knowledge of Advanced Electrical components and there function. Previous Mechanical/Electrical training or Certification mandatory. Institutional, Food, or Industrial Maintenance background preferred.
