The B&TI Process Engineering Group Manager will provide leadership for developing and launching innovative new process technologies in support of the Business and Technology Incubator (B&TI) within Dow Corning. The B&TIs mission is to develop new business opportunities for Dow Corning by identifying emerging mega-trends and discontinuities in major industries, including electronics, solar, and healthcare, and developing novel silicon based products and technologies to meet those needs. This position will report directly to the Science & Technology Director and will part of the S&T leadership team. The successful candidate will work closely with marketing, business development, and other S&T groups to identify and develop these new process technologies, with a key goal of developing and executing a strategic technology plan focused on delivering the next generation of process technologies which will enable new business opportunities. The successful candidate will be able to effectively manage a group of 20+ engineers and will be adept at resource and staffing management, organizational and people development, budget management, intellectual property strategy development and implementation, establishment and effective leveraging of external innovation partnerships, and eventually successful transition of the process technologies and resulting products into commercialization.

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or higher) in an engineering discipline (Chemical, Materials, or equivalent)
  • U.S. Citizenship or unrestricted work authorization
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an applied industrial process development environment with a demonstrated ability to deliver innovative new processes.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in direct people management with a passion to manage, motivate, and develop employees
  • Strong project management skills with a history of completing projects on time and within budget
  • Business and financial acumen with the ability to effectively communicate and interact cross-functionally with marketing, business development, and commercial organizations
  • Prior experience in silicon containing materials and related technologies and processes is desired
  • Six Sigma experience is highly desired
