We are the leading provider of, educator, and advocate for confidential, affordable and quality reproductive health care and information across the region, serving more than 16,000 patients per year in our 5 clinics across Montana.

Planned Parenthood of Montana is currently searching for an inspirational leader to fill the President and Chief Executive Officer role. Reporting to and working with the Board of Directors, the President and CEO has responsibility and is accountable for managing the strategic, programmatic, and financial operations of the organization. In partnership with the Board of Directors and staff, the President and CEO will provide visionary and collaborative leadership in public policy, development, education, and health services in order to reach and serve PPMT’s target audiences. Furthermore, s/he will enhance PPMT’s relations with and access to the philanthropic community. Furthermore, the CEO will continue to lay the groundwork for engaging young people as one of PPMT’s primary constituents – as clients, advocates, and future supporters. While serving as an ambassador, chief spokesperson and advocate for PPMT’s mission and programs, and in partnership with a dedicated board and staff, the CEO will also oversee fundraising for the organization.

The President and CEO of PPMT will demonstrate capacity for leadership through vision, communication, inspiration, and action. S/he will be an experienced leader in the non-profit, business, or public sector who will have a track record of accomplishments, credibility, recognition in complex leadership roles, and a reputation of impeccable integrity. The successful candidate will have exceptional strategic, political, fundraising, organizational, and people skills. The ideal candidate will have the capacity to manage a decentralized and complex organization. S/he will have experience working closely with a board, staff, and other constituents to achieve ambitious goals in a fiscally responsible manner. S/he
will have outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to represent PPMT effectively with a diversity of audiences.

Management Skills: The CEO must be a proven manager with demonstrated business acumen, able to run a complex and changing organization, ensure sustainable results-oriented business operations, and have the ability to delegate authority and responsibilities appropriately. The CEO must be capable of managing an organization with complex regulatory and compliance requirements, including risk management strategies across its operating regions.
Communicator: The new leader must possess outstanding public presentation and writing skills and the capacity to communicate effectively with the media, policy makers, donors and other stakeholders in an influential and compelling manner. The CEO is responsible for articulating and strengthening PPMT’s values and mission to diverse communities.
Political and Policy Acumen: The new leader will need to possess policy and advocacy experience. S/he will be capable of building coalitions and strategic partnerships across a wide range of constituents. S/he will understand health care reform as it exists today and have the ability to capitalize upon the opportunities that may present themselves. Furthermore, s/he should have the acumen to proactively adapt PPMT’s operations in anticipation of the evolving regulatory environment.
Commitment to Diversity: The CEO will ensure PPMT’s programs and services reach a diverse constituency and that PPMT’s mission is communicated to a wide audience of stakeholders. The successful candidate must also have a track record of leading an inclusive and diverse organization.
Access to the Philanthropic Community: The CEO must have the ability to foster relationships with foundations and major donors and generate additional resources to secure the financial viability of PPMT.

Passion: S/he must be compassionate, inspirational and able to skillfully articulate the vision for PPMT.
Sense of Self: The new leader needs to be confident and self-assured, yet sufficiently grounded so as not to be distracted by the intense public scrutiny that comes with the position.
Intellect: The CEO will need to readily master the organizational and political environment and must command an intellectual capacity to think critically and strategically and make decisions with deliberation and creativity. S/he should also demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to learn.
Integrity: The new leader must possess a record of the highest personal and professional integrity.
Energy: The CEO will need energy and endurance to supervise and visit five clinics located hours apart in four different Montana cities.
