The Class Actions department is responsible for the notification, filing and payment of claims in securities class action settlements on behalf of BNY Mellon clients. For notification, the incumbent is responsible for capturing new settlements, researching securities, capturing claim filing data and notifying clients. For filing, the incumbent is responsible for analyzing claim filing data, submitting claims to administrators and processing notices of deficiency and rejection. For payment, the incumbent is responsible for receiving funds from administrators, redistributing those funds to clients and reconciling each class action to ensure that all claims are accounted for.
The incumbent must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and handle high volumes with frequent fluctuations. They will communicate with various internal groups including client service, as well as external entities, such as claims administrators, prior custodians and clients.
The qualified candidate will have a BS/BA degree in a business discipline and 0-2 years of relevant work experience. The candidate must have good customer service and organization skills. Multi-tasking ability is important. Overtime is required. Experience with Microsoft Excel is required. General securities knowledge and familiarity with CMS/IAS, ASP/TAS and GSP/IMMS is preferred.
