SUMMARY: Under the supervision and guidance of the Mortgage Servicing Escrow
Manager the Mortgage Servicing Insurance Specialist 1 monitors hazard and flood
insurance on designated accounts and ensures that loans maintain proper hazard and/or
flood insurance coverage at all times during the duration of the loan. The incumbent
additionally makes determinations regarding insurance needs and works directly with
customers, bank associates, and third parties to resolve any issues as they arise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may
be assigned.
1. Monitors hazard/flood insurance policies on non-escrowed accounts.
2. Ensure all loans maintain proper hazard and/or flood coverage at all times.
3. Process and pay all escrowed insurance premiums and remit to the insurance
companies in a timely manner.
4. Send proper notifications to customers regarding company changes and
cancellations.
5. Run all required reports necessary to ensure no lapse in coverage.
6. Take all necessary action to establish force-placed hazard or flood coverage, as
needed.
7. Perform research and follow-up on outstanding problems. Assist
customers/agents/bank associates concerning problems/inquiries on loans in an
accurate and efficient manner.
8. Cross-train in other areas of the department.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED), required
· Six (6) months previous banking or equivalent related experience required
· One (1) year previous insurance, mortgage loan or mortgage loan servicing
experience preferred
