The Role:
The primary purpose of the role is to provide support to the Chief Financial Officer particularly in the areas of financial planning, analysis and risk management. The role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
Annual and long term business unit plans
Business unit forecasting
Analysis of current year results and trends
Enhance the risk management framework and embed risk management principles and metrics throughout the business
Develop, analyze, review and challenge the businesses in relation to risk experience, assumptions, management actions and reported metrics used for the management and measurement of risk
Oversee regular scenario, stress and reverse stress-testing exercises and generate holistic recommendations with regard to potential risk mitigation actions
Work with colleagues to continue to develop, embed and validate the local Risk and Solvency Assessment process and internal capital model
Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer on ad-hoc projects
Person Specification
Qualifications:
CPA
Bachelor’s degree
7-10 years of experience with a Big Four accountant or equivalent
Strong quantitative, analytical and qualitative skills
Experience of Enterprise Risk Management principles
Highly organized and efficient
Proactive approach to areas of responsibility, especially in relation to building successful and productive networks across the business
Highly results driven, with the energy and determination to succeed in a very fast paced environment where the pace of response and leadership is critical to success
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of working with people at all levels within and external to the business
Flexibility to travel to the UK and throughout the US
Ability to build and sustain working relationships with senior management, i.e. the US Management team, US business leaders, and the Group Chief Risk Officer
Preferred:
Strong knowledge of the emerging insurance regulatory frameworks (e.g. Solvency II and ORSA) and its commensurate requirements and implications
Prior experience of embedding risk management frameworks and measurement
