In this role, you will be part of a Customer Focus Team which will provide technical leadership and serve as the primary customer interface for large avionics systems projects. You will regularly interface with customers, partner companies, suppliers and other senior leadership within the company.
This role will function as the primary customer interface and technical decision maker for the Communication Management function for a Part-25 commercial aircraft platform. You will guide and influence the customer to make the best decisions regarding avionics systems design, including support of current industry standards and future capabilities:
Provide consultation and technical direction to the engineering community on near term and longer-range projects with substantial business impact
Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions
Build solid relationships with key customers and suppliers
Support other GE businesses, supplier, and internal/external customers
Be a recognized leader in defining the state of the art in own technical specialty in order to anticipate, develop and apply technology to current and future business opportunities
Provide engineering support, within one's specialty, to teams working on performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives
Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
Develop and implement training modules as necessary
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university
Minimum of 10 years of experience working directly with Communication Management Systems design and development for aircraft
Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Familiarity with communication routers, transceivers and end systems for civil aircraft
Familiarity with related industry standards, including ARINC 429, ARINC 618, ARINC 619, ARINC 623, ARINC 750, EUROCAE ED-85A, EUROCAE ED-89A, EUROCAE ED-106A, EUROCAE WG-78, RTCA DO-219, RTCA DO-258A and RTCA SC-214
Experience coordinating and resolving aircraft level system interface issues
Some experience with Integrated Modular Avionics, On-Board Maintenance Systems and Crew Interface / Display systems, Flight Management Systems and Navigation Sensors is desired
Prior experience working directly with customers to define requirements, design and develop solutions to complex aircraft problems is required
Some working knowledge of the ARP-4754 Systems Development Process is essential as well as a familiarity of ARP 4761 – Guidelines and Methods for Conducting Safety Assessments
Working knowledge of the systems engineering life cycle including requirements definition, validation, integration, certification, safety analysis, and verification
Ability to work with local, remote, and cross-cultural teams
Strong oral and written communication skills in the English language
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Private or commercial or flight crew experience
Fluency in Mandarin
The candidate must be able to live or as a minimum spend a significant amount of time in Shanghai China
Experience leading International teams
Experience using models to simulate and validate complex systems as well as experience with Model-Based design processes
Experience with predictive failure models and algorithms
Experience with IMA, Crew Interface Systems, On-Board Maintenance Systems and Flight Management Systems, Radios, IRS and DME
Experience with other Avionics systems
