Job Description

We areseeking aMySQL Database Administrator who will be responsible for optimizing, tuning MySQL and InnoDB performance to keep our site fast, install, configure, and maintain MySQL instances in production, configure and support replication, manage backup and restore (using LVM and XtraBackup), assist developers with query tuning and schema design, build and maintain ETL scripts to move data to our data warehouse, write and maintain scripts to automate tasks, on a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Very large database experience is a must
4 year’s experience as a DBA or equivalent required.
A solid understanding of MySQL Server and InnoDB storage engine is required.
Familiarity with MySQL replication, configuration, and strategies is required.
Demonstrated experience with relational database performance tuning and capacity planning (preferably with MySQL) is required.
Strong systems administration and automation skills, strong command of a scripting and/or programming language (Perl, PHP, or Python) is required.
Excellent communication skills required.
Experience with a data warehouse (Infobright) is preferred.
Experience with subversion, Nagios, cacti, and chef (tools to manage infrastructure) preferred.
