The Social Media Publicist will create and implement social media campaigns on behalf of Author Solutions Inc. (ASI) authors. This position creates an editorial calendar for authors with tips on how to use Twitter, Facebook and Blogging. Will post comments, tweet and blog on a regular basis with author approval and provides weekly reports on progress. Will plan and interact with authors on a weekly or day to day basis as necessary. Will research and provide guidance on the best methods / locations to increase engagement .


Development of social media calendar for author campaigns.

Brainstorm creative ideas for garnering engagement and attention.

Meet via teleconference with authors and walk them through the editorial calendar and providing consultation to increase engagement.

Measure and analyze campaigns on a weekly basis and provide suggestions to authors.

Provide weekly and final reports to authors.

Inspire, coach and direct authors in the development of the campaign.

Train authors on social media and its benefits.

Strategize and pitch stories to a wide range of media outlets via social media, and implement social media outreach that will generate ongoing positive publicity.

Research new hooks, trends, and social media.

Job Requirements:
Education: High school diploma required. College Degree in Journalism or Publicity preferred.

Experience: 1-2 years publicity experience. Proven success in generating media placements
Specific Skills: Superior knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook e-mail, Internet use, and typing skills at 50 WPM

Physical Skill: Sufficient manual and digital dexterity to work with a computer, keyboard, mouse, monitor, and phone pad.

Working Conditions: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm core schedule with frequent flexibility for start and ending times. Additional hours and/or overtime depending on the position may be required due to business needs. Other duties may be required as assigned.
