Job Description:
The Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for the preparation of the payroll taxes returns on behalf of all Baxter Healthcare SA (BHSA), and Baxter Sales & Distribution (BSD) facilities. The person on this position must know the criticality of complying with the government’s requirements, due dates and file formats in order to avoid fines and penalties from the local agencies. It is imperative to understand how the Puerto Rico government works, know the special programs and forms that Baxter needs to use to comply, and have the capability of visiting the government personnel and the knowledge to challenge face to face their request and decisions. The person on this position is responsible for the time entry and payroll transactions process for Puerto Rico Global Logistics Center, Baxter Credit Union and Global Manufacturing, Information System and Facilities Engineering that is processed on a weekly basis. Due to the heavy utilization of all Kronos modules and the big amount of customized programs and procedures to comply with the Puerto Rico regulations, this person requires special knowledge to be the backup for the Time-Entry/Payroll Manager for the Kronos modules, as well as providing trainings to the users of all BHSA and BSD facilities.

This position is accountable for the analysis and preparation of end-of-month journal entries related to payroll and payroll taxes in order to assure reliable statements on behalf of BHSA and BSD.

Job Requirements:
Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Kronos and JD Edwards Analytic skills and problem solving ability Detail oriented Relationship Management at all levels Customer Orientation and Continuous Improvement Focus Communication and Influencing skills Must be self-motivated and able to work independently Strong excel/access experience required for analysis Extensive knowledge of federal, state and local tax and lien regulations, taxability of earnings types and accounting and payroll principals

Education and/or Experience

3-5 years of Payroll Tax related experience Bachelors degree in Accounting or Tax required or country equivalent Understanding of HR operating and regulatory environment Fully bilingual
