At John Deere, operations is directly responsible for producing equipment that helps feed and clothe people around the world. Here, production supervisors have the opportunity to apply their team–building and problem–solving skills, coordinate product launches and serve as liaisons between union and salaried workers. In operations, change is a constant with the introduction of new products, the implementation of new technology and the recruitment of additional team members to keep pace with our continuing growth.
What You'll Do
for John Deere Ottumwa Works you will coordinate the procuring, expediting, producing and on time delivery of material for multiple departments. This includes managing the movement of rejected material to source. In addition, you will:
Recommend procedures for specific situations that will maintain inventory accuracy and management.
Find and correct root cause of material shortages.
Provide recommendations for solutions.
Utilize Master Schedule to create and distribute daily production schedules.
Process transactions for inbound/outbound materials.
Audit material replenishment cycles and accuracy and may create material replenishment plans with assistance.
Resolve inventory errors and expedite parts to ensure uninterrupted production.
Work critical shortage reports to ensure part availability.
Implement the output from the engineering release and change management process.
What It Takes
We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will have a degree in a Business/Management, Engineering/Technology, Supply Management or Accounting/Finance discipline or equivalent experience. In addition, we require:
Microsoft Office experience.
Supply Management/Operations Experience.
Root Cause and Corrective Action Problem Solving.
Relationship building skills.
A strong candidate will also have:
Understanding of Order Fulfillment Process.
Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation and conflict resolution.
Production floor experience.
Six Sigma training.
