Serves as the primary contact for the Police Department's media programs, inquiries and news releases. Develops, coordinates and administers communication and marketing programs to promote the department's programs and services.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field, plus three years related, responsible experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice or related field may be substituted in place of a Communications, or related, degree. A Master’s Degree may be substituted for one year of experience. Experience in a law enforcement environment preferred. Subject to emergency call-in. Will require some weekend and evening hours. Incumbent must possess a valid Missouri Motor Vehicle Operator’s License in order to operate a vehicle for the purpose of completing job duties; must provide a personal vehicle for transportation purposes as required. Must be able to successfully complete an intense security background investigation.
$1,624.80 - $2,236.80 Bi-weekly is complete Salary Range.
(Starting salary is typically at the beginning of the range depending on individual qualifications and budget authorization.)
